about aysu

I’m Aysu (she/her) and I am a second-generation person with roots in the Eastern Anatolian region of Turkey. My family and I migrated to a new country when I was four years old, and this experience has deeply shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, and connection.

I am a qualified primary school teacher and counsellor, graduating with a Master’s in Counselling from Monash University. With over ten years of experience in education, I have worked both as a classroom teacher and as a specialist teacher in The Arts. This experience has given me a strong understanding of childhood development, emotional wellbeing, and the importance of creative expression.

In my counselling practice, I am passionate about client-centred care and building strong therapeutic relationships. I have a particular interest in evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. Working with both children and adults, I have seen firsthand how listening deeply and showing empathy can make a meaningful difference, particularly in a fast-paced world shaped by social pressures and systemic challenges.

I am committed to supporting individuals in exploring their feelings, strengthening resilience, and finding their own path to growth and wellbeing.
